Hot Fix Release Information ====================================================================== 1.1 Issues =================================================================== There are no issues for this hot fix release. 1.2 Enhancements =================================================================== The following enhancement is included in this hot fix release: Enhancement: This hot fix enables ScanMail (for Microsoft Exchange) 11.0 to use the latest Advanced Threat Scan Engine (ATSE) which contains new rules to detect macro threats in Microsoft Office(TM) files. Note: The newly-added macro rules apply only when the scan level for ATSE is "4 - Aggressive". Trend Micro strongly recommends switching to this aggressive scan level only when Virtual Analyzer is enabled because it performs further analysis to help reduce false macro threat detections. 1.3 Files Included in this Release =================================================================== A. Installation/Uninstallation ====================================================================== 4.1 Installation Notes =================================================================== - This hot fix supports remote and multi-server deployment. - This hot fix automatically restarts the following services on both Normal and Cluster Servers: - ScanMail (for Microsoft Exchange) Master Service - ScanMail (for Microsoft Exchange) System Watcher - To install or uninstall this hot fix, you must have at least local administrator and domain user privileges. - The installation and uninstallation steps are the same as for ScanMail (for Microsoft Exchange) 11.0. Refer to the "Trend Micro ScanMail (for Microsoft Exchange) 11.0 Installation and Upgrade Guide" for detailed information. - Register online with Trend Micro within 30 days of installation to continue downloading new pattern files and product updates from the Trend Micro web site. Register during installation or online at: http://olr.trendmicro.com/ 4.2 Installation =================================================================== To install this hot fix, run "smex_110_win_en_sp1_hfb4197.exe" and select "Install". The framework automatically installs the hot fix to the correct directory, replaces the outdated files, and updates the database. The "Successfully completed" count increases upon the completion of the installation. 4.3 Uninstallation =================================================================== To uninstall this hot fix, you can either - run "smex_110_win_en_sp1_hfb4197.exe" and select "uninstall"; or - run "uninstall.bat" in the following hot fix folder: {SMEX_HOME}\HotFix\Hotfix B4197\Uninstall The framework automatically rolls back to the previous build and a confirmation message indicating a successful uninstallation is displayed on the setup screen. 5. Post-installation Configuration ====================================================================== No post-installation steps are required. Note: Trend Micro recommends that you update your scan engine and virus pattern files immediately after installing this hot fix. 6.
