About Root Account Password Resetting Tool ======================================================================== This tool enables users to reset the password of the root account on Control Manager 7.0 using a Microsoft(TM) Windows(TM) account with administrator privileges. 1.1 Files Included in this Release ===================================================================== Module Filename ================ CMResetPWTool.exe 2. How to Use the Tool ======================================================================== a. Install this tool (see "Installation"). b. Login to Windows using account with administrator privileges. c. Run "CMResetPWTool.exe" in the Control Manager 7.0 installation folder. d. Enter the password for the Windows account and click "Next". Note: You will not see the "Next" button if you use a Windows account that does not have administrator privileges and will not be able to reset the root account password. e. Enter the new password for the root account on Control Manager 7.0 twice and click "Change". A pop-up message appears to inform you that the password has been reset successfully. 3. System Requirements ======================================================================== Install Control Manager 7.0 before installing this tool. 5. Installation ======================================================================== To install this tool: 1. Copy the "tmcm_70_win_en_toolb2515.exe" file to the Control Manager 7.0 server folder. 2. Run "tmcm_70_win_en_toolb2515.exe" on the Control Manager server. A confirmation dialog box displays "Installation successful!" after the system completes the installation. 6. Post-installation Configuration ======================================================================== No post-installation steps are required. Note: Trend Micro recommends that you update your scan engine and virus pattern files immediately after installing this tool. 7.
